Excel copy and paste errors. Paste gives different data

Hello,

I have a problem with copy and paste in a single worksheet.

When I copy a cell and try to paste to another location the result is not the contents of the cell I copied from but the contents of the cell below the target cell. so if I am copying a value from A1 to A12, the contents of A12 will be the same as the A13 not A1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am copying value only. There is no formula. Just numbers or names.

If I press "F2" key, I can enter the wanted value. But it is a waste of the time

This worksheet is formatted as a table, but it does not matter if here are any filters selected or not.

This issue is only with this one worksheet. The workbook has 18 tabs including 2 charts. I have disabled all VBA items and Micros in the workbook.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Thank you

Nour

We appreciate your response. If it happens only on one workbook, it may be corrupted. Try repairing the workbook and see how it goes.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

    Hello Hector

The office is up to date.

    • Does the issue occur as well on other workbooks?

No, it  is only in this workbook. It happened even when I tried to copy data from other workbooks to this one.

    • Were there any changes before the issue occurred?

It was working fine. I have not made any changes. I was just updating names and numbers, adding new customers to the table.

Yes, it did not solve the problem.

    Thanks for your help

    Nour

Hi, the formula to be copied has to have absolute reference in your case should be =$A$1, when you copy it it will reference always to A1
