Split from this thread.

Hi Tim,

after uploading the same file using site collection admin which didn't work with contribute user solved the problem for contribute user. This contribute user can now upload folder. The issue with renaming the folder 03_.. still exists with a contribute user but can be renamed using site collection admin. Please help to investigate this issue further. Other folders could be renamed in the same folder where 03_.. is and 03_.. folder has only inherited permissions form above folder as any other.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Mihail Stacanov

    Hi Mihail,

As the current issue is different from the initial one, so we split this post as a new thread, we can investigate the new issue further in this thread. Thanks for your understanding.

Firstly please help me confirm if the situation below is correct. We call that contribute user C.

    1. When C want to rename the folder 03_T**e with browser, he gets the Access denied error message.
    2. C can rename folders in the folder 03_T**e and other folders in the library.
    3. 03_T**e folder inheriting the permission of the library.

If it's correct, please share with us the following info:

    1. User your site collection admin account to rename 03_T**e, for example 03_T**e 1. And then let C check if he can rename 03_T**e 1.
    2. Use another account which has contribute permission. To rename 03_T**e folder.
    3. Create a new folder with name 03_T**e. Let user C and another user check if they can rename this folder.
    4. User site collection admin account, click "..." next to the folder 03_T**e>Share>click ... >Manage Access>Advanced>capture a screenshot for ribbons under PERMISSIONS>click Check Permissions>enter C's account>check Now>capture a screenshot for the result.

    Best regards,

    Tim
