Access 2016 - Cannot create Reports/Forms using wizard.

Getting error: "The wizard cannot create your report" - no other information.

Important: Query Wizard works!

Small Database - Table only contains 550 records.

No Add-ins disabled - checked options

I can create Reports/forms from Design View.

  • Tried from simple query and directly from table.
  • Tried choosing all fields and also only a couple.
  • Tried other tables and queries...unable to use Form/Report wizards.
  • Tried creating query from Wizard and using that query to create Report from wizard...did not work.

Any help is appreciated.

So if I understand correctly, the form and report wizards do not work.

Do you have a default printer in Windows?

If you have a default printer defined, try to change it to PDF or some other printer. If that doesn't work you may need to repair your office install.

I read an article from earlier version where a field name containing a double-byte character had the same symptoms. Have you tried with a very simple table with standard field names?

Nope. Thanks for trying. Still getting the error message.

Thank you. Tried changing printer ...no go. Repair office install is unlikely...low priority, and too many others in the queue. But thank you very much for the answer.
