I have no errors in my excel sheet but it still complains every time I click save: "Excel has found one or more errors with formula references . . ."

    • Does it still allow you to save the workbook?
    • Do you have any circular references in formulas that you have accepted and allowed to remain?

    Try the following:

    • Select menu item File -> Options -> Formulas
    • Check under the heading "Error Checking" and "Error Checking Rules" and tell us which boxes are checked. (Use the Snipping tool and post a screen shot via the "Insert image" icon in the post editor.
    • More information on Snipping tool at the following link.

    Snipping Tool

I suggest that you pin the Snipping Tool to the Task bar for ease of use.

    Hi,

We appreciate the information that you've provided. It could be because of a chart with empty data ranges. We would like to ask for additional information. Please provide the following:

    • Does it happen to a specific file or other files as well?
    • Were there any changes on your computer or the Office application prior to the issue?

Moreover, let us run a quick repair and see if it would do the trick. You may check this link for the steps.

Looking forward to the requested information and the results of the recommended troubleshooting steps.

    Thanks for your reply.

I found it (accidentally)! There was no error in the formulas or references. It was in fact a data point in a plot which pointed to an empty cell. The annoying part was I couldn't detect it.
