Product Key does not work

The product key for my institution for Office 2016 Pro Plus is not working after I uninstalled the 64-bit version and installed 32-bit . I am getting " Sorry, this isn't a Microsoft Office 2016 product key. You may be entering a product key from another version of Office". Other posts with this message is because of pre-installed Office.  I did not have Office pre-installed on my Surface Pro.  The key I am entering is multi-user for higher education.

Please Try the following:

Check the Activation Troubleshooter:

If the above does not works try the following steps:

Resetting Office activation

Open Command Prompt and navigate to the following folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

Run cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

Observe the results and uninstall each product key

cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:<last 5 chars of product key shown in dstatus>

After the above actions please do the following:
