Cannot edit Sharepoint Word document in Browser

We are trying to collaboratively edit a document in Office 365 SharePoint, however cannot Edit the document in Browser.  This is the dialog box that pops up, but there isn't any details on what "objects" that Word Online doesn't support.

"Sorry, this document can't be opened because it contains objects that Word Online doesn't support."

Is there a way we can save (or modify) the document in Word that will ensure it is compatible with Word Online?

    Hi CCQ,

Regarding the error message, you can refer to the below article to check the difference between using a document in the browser and in Word and check what cannot be opened/used in Word online.
