Flickering screen

Split from this thread.

I have the exact same problem as ryanmharrell since yesterday. I've been using Office 2013 for several years and out of nowhere it started flickering in Excel, Word, PPT but strangely not in Outlook for example. Any open menu (like right-click menu) disappears when it flickers like it's refreshing something. And the issue stays even in Safe Mode so the problem is not caused by addins.

So far I've tried disabling hardware graphics acceleration with no success. I've installed all the available updates of Office 2013.

I've also updated my graphics cards drivers (NVIDIA) but the problem remains .

I have 2 monitors, same model (Dell's P2210 22-inch) and I'm using a resolution of 1680 x 1050 with a 60 Hz refresh rate.

What else can I try? It's driving me insane

I think I found the issue. Your suggestion of checking programs recently installed gave me the idea. There is an update of Dropbox that was done 2 days ago and the flickering looks like something is refreshing.

I went ahead and exited the Dropbox program and BAM...flickers stop :)

Thanks a lot for your input!

Would you mind sharing how you disabled Dropbox?

I removed the option of showing Dropbox as a save location in MS office, but everything is still flickering!

    Thank you in advance,

    A frustrated user

I do use dual monitors. I just tried to use only one but there is no difference.

The only thing that was installed yesterday is Mozilla update. I just uninstalled but the problem remains.

I had 2 Excel spreadsheets with multiple sheets and graphs that I've been working for a few days when I started noticing the problem.

What happened yesterday when the problem started? If something was installed, you can try uninstalling it, or going back to an older Restore Point.

Also, are you using dual monitors? In that case, see if there is a difference when running just one monitor.
