SharePoint 2013 Column Width

The company that I currently work with was just SharePoint 2003, and while the current SharePoint 2013 that we are learning is great the one thing that am having trouble doing is in the Custom List in Datasheet View app, I can't adjust the column size unless I change the column name or the coding of it.  Is there a easier way to go about it?
