Cannot paste image from clipboard into OneNote for Mac

I cannot paste an image from the clipboard into OneNote for Mac, regardless of the Paste option (keep source formatting etc). It simply does not paste.

I can paste text into OneNote.

As a workaround, I can paste the clipboard image to Evernote and then copy it from there and paste into OneNote.

Please help?

So I tried it again and it worked. That was really weird, as it was not working for sure, and now it works.

Both Cmd-C / Cmd-V for text and pasting a screenshot from the clipboard suddenly work. Thank you.

    Hi Jenny,

    Have you tried SWischner's method?

Please let us know the result at your convenience.

    Hi Jenny,

I’d like to know how you copied (not paste) the screenshots, do you mean to copy the picture by clicking the OneNote icon in your browser?

Since you used to be able to use Cmd-V to paste screenshots into OneNote, can you recall its version?

Is it also the OneNote 2016?

To understand the problem more clearly, can you like the share the screenshots of your OneNote version and operating system?

For how to check the OneNote version, please go to the OneNote menu and choose About OneNote.

In the dialog box that opens, the version number appears at the top.

For how to check the OS information, you can refer to the article: Find the macOS version number on your Mac.

    Thanks,

    Cherry

That is quite strange, as I used to be able to use Cmd-V to paste screenshots into OneNote. Has this changed?

    Hi Jenny,

It’s not feasible to use Command +C and Command +V to paste the screenshot into OneNote, however, the function can work if you copy image from browser.

    As for the workarounds,

1.You can use mouse to drag and drop the image to paste it into OneNote.

2.You can use the OneNote clipper to clip an image and paste it into OneNote in browser.Or you can use 3rd party apps.

Given the situation, we welcome and encourage you to share your ideas through User Voice.

    Regards,

    Cherry
