Question

Hi 

I work for a reseller of office 365 and we have a problem with a clients domain that appears to already be linked yet onmicrosoft account doesn't seem to exist.

Currently we host the email for **** on a Hosted Exchange environment, we are wishing to migrate them across to 365.

They appear to already have a tenant, 

******.onmicrosoft.com. 

The client doesn't have any information relating to this and when trying to reset the password of *****.onmicrosoft.com it appears not to exist. 

Could you please advise how either my client or I can access the tenant to proceed.

To narrow down the issue, I need to confirm the following information:

1. Confirm if your company has made/trial an O365 tenant before.
2. The new tenant which you want to add the custom domain now.

If they aren't the owner of the tenant in question, or can prove they are the owner, then they'll have to chose a new tenant name.
