Keep having an error that "The sections you're moving have not all been synced. Make sure you are online and fully synced before you move sections between notebooks." despite being online and synchronised, when moving from the misplaced section to my other notebook. Tried creating a new notebook too but nothing shows up. Need help

Thank you

Best Regards

Benedict

Thank you for that information. Since the notebook sections that won’t sync is stored on OneDrive, let us try opening the notebook in OneNote Online (at www.onenote.com). This can help determine if the problem is caused by the server or by OneNote. Here's how:

    1. In OneNote, click File > Info.
    2. Right-click the URL shown below the name of the affected notebook, and click Copy.
    3. In your web browser, click inside the Address box, and then press Ctrl+V to paste the copied URL.
    4. Press Enter to load the notebook in OneNote Online.

Were you also able to check the links provided on the first message?

Please update us with the result.

    Thank you.

    Hi Benedict,

For us to identify if this is an issue with the server or application itself, we need to confirm some information. Please answer the following:

    • When did you first encounter this issue?
    • Are you getting the error message on all of the notebook sections you are trying to sync?
    • Does the notebook section that won't sync were stored in OneDrive or SharePoint online?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you check if there is an available update for your OneNote application. Please access this link for detailed steps.

If still the same, you may also try creating a new section again using the process below if this is not the one you are doing:

    1. In the same notebook, create a new section.
    2. Copy (don’t move) all of the pages from the old section into the new one you just created. You can do this by right-clicking each page and then clicking Move or Copy.
    3. When all of the pages have been copied to the new section, press Shift+F9 to manually sync the notebook. If a progress bar appears, wait for it to finish.

For the best practices in syncing OneNote, you may also check this link.

Please reply with the required information and the result to help you further.

    Thank you.

    Hi there

I've recently transferred my notes back into my notebook from misplaced sections by painstakingly copying and pasting, so I do not really have a problem now. But I'll hope to solve the issue of synchronisation since I prefer using OneNote Windows as compared to OneNote 2016, since its far more minimalistic and cleaner, and thus not willing to switch over as a result of this problem. Please advise. Thank you.

    Hi Anna

I had this issue since I reinstalled Onenote(windows-built in), after when I tried out Onenote 2016 I found none of my sections nor notes present there except for 2 sections. Then I begun having this problem as such. This message occurs for all the sections, copying also doesn't work and gets the same error. It is stored on Onedrive, but the irony is that I can access the notes on OneNote on my android, but is barely empty with regards to the notebook synchronised in OneDrive.

    Best Regards

    Benedict
