One note sync to PC showing empty

I have been using OneNote for a couple of years on my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate).

The last week I have been experiencing an issue that the OneNote application on my laptop suddenly seems to lose all the pages and sections and simply displays the text "There are no sections open in this notebook or section group".

If I tell it to sync it thinks for a bit and then it still shows the empty notebook with the message same as above.

I tried closing all the notebooks (have 3) and then opening them again.  They all synced up and showed the correct content for a few hours.  Then the same problem occurred.

I did a more thorough clean where I closed all the notebooks and removed all the cached files on my system and then restarted OneNote and opened the notebooks.  This worked for a couple of days but then the problem appeared again.

So I can get the notebooks to sync - by closing and reopening but this is extremely tiresome.

The sync on my iPhone and iPad still works fine.  It seems to be just an issue with the laptop.

I did do a check for updates which indicated there are no new updates available.

My product information:

Ms Office Standard 2010

Version: 14.0.7181.5000

Microsoft 365 and Office | OneNote | For home | Windows

The OneDrive team informs me that the problem has been fixed. Please let me know if the problem recurs.

You're a little late. If you look down into this forum you can see many reports concerning your problem. It's obviously a server side bug hitting Onenote 2010. Testing software changes with older software seems to be uncool for Microsoft developers. They will call it agile development.

Enough sarcasm. You have to wait for a fix.

I am having the same issue too!

My work depends heavily on this and it is very frustrating when the notebooks just closes while I'm working on it.

Can Microsoft take action on this??
