cannot share particular folder - Can't complete your request

I am trying to share particular folder other than Inbox, but when I give permission to particular folder (review, folder visible checked) and also give permission to root (folder visible), shared user still can't access folder. When I open as Shared folder from OWA, it said "Can't complete your request" You might not have permission to perform this action. When I try "Open other user's folder" from Outlook client, I get "cannot display folder"  (this doesn't give me any options to particular folder other than inbox).

Is it not possible to share other than Inbox to another users?

Thanks.

Akiko

Ruby,

I was doing wrong.  The subfolder was located under mailbox\folder\sharedfolder, so that I needed to share "folder" also.

After I setup the review permission on "folder" in addition to" sharefolder", I was able to add as "Shared folder" from OWA. :)

It is still not add from Outlook client though....

    Hi Akiko,

    Thanks for posting here.

Yes, please also shared your primary folder with these shared user. If so, they can access this specific folder.

Please check it on your side. Meanwhile, if anything is unclear, please feel free to let us know at your convenience.

    Regards,

    Ruby,

I tried from OWA and it added user's mailbox.  But when I click mailbox, I got "Can't complete your request" you might not have permission to perform this action.

If I share "Inbox", it worked, so that I don't think there is any organization policy is blocking...

    Thanks.

    Hi Akiko,

    Thanks for the reply.

Have they tried adding your primary folder as the Shared folder on the OWA? Based on my test, the way also can achieve it. Please check it on your side:

    1. On OWA, right-click their primary mailbox, and then choose Add shared folder option.
    2. On the Add shared folder pop-up window, enter your primary email address.
    3. Click Add button.

If the issue persists, please let admin check whether any organization policy blocks this behavior.

    Regards,

    Rudy

    Rudy,

I setup "review" permission from my primary folder (my email address - folder permission) to a user. Also, I setup "review" permission from particular folder to a user. However, I still get "Can't complete your request" You might not have permission to perform this action from OWA, and "We don't have anything to show here." from Outlook client.

Do I need to wait for a couple of hours before the permission take effect?

    Thanks.

    Akiko
