Demo mode

I have just replaced my laptop & installed office & my device is showing on my account and all of the programs (word excel outlook) are opening, but they are saying they are a (demo) - how do I fix this?

    Many / most new computers come with a "free trial" of Office 365 installed. If you install your own copy, it usually causes the sort of problem you see.

    Go into Control Panel > Programs and Features. Scroll through the list looking for more than one Office 365 entry. Uninstall the one with the older install date. AND do an Office Repair of your remaining version. This resets all of the registry entries to point to it and should clear up your activation issue at the same time.

    Hi GlendaMathieson, this generally happens when to version of Office 365 you downloaded is not the version you are subscribed to . . .

    If this is the case:

    Use this Microsoft tool to remove all remnants of any previous Microsoft Office Installation:

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninst...

    Go to http://www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in.

    On the Office home page, select Install Office - Install

    Make sure to download the correct version listed on your account . . .
