Validation List Width

My dropdown list as it shows in the latest Excel on my MAC. When I open the same file in Excel 2016 in Windows 10 this what I get

What I see on the Mac is what I want to see in Excel 2016.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. For information, the column width in both cases must remain the same width (3) but I would like users to see the full description in the dropdown.

Thanks,

Tom

See Debra Dalgleish's site for code which makes the DVLisr column temporarily wider when list is selected

What I don't understand is why the validation shows up correctly in Mac Excel and differently in 2016 Excel in exactly the same (unchanged) spreadsheet.

    Hello Tom,

The width of the drop-down list normally depends on the width of the cell that has the data validation. To prevent truncating the entries that are wider than the drop-down list, you'll need to adjust the width of that cell. Another workaround is to resize or widen the column first before creating the data validation.

Feel free to reach out if you require further assistance.
