Missing "save" and "save as" commands in Excel file menu

OS:                       Windows 10

Program:              Office Home 365,  Excel

I lost the "save" and "save as" commands on the file menu. All I have now is "Save a Copy." This situation started a few months ago. Makes it impossible to use my monthly budget planner since preparing and editing the current months worksheet for use next month also changes current months worksheet.

Not sure if I accidently turned something on or off.

The file is not marked :Read Only, and I have Permission set up according to community messages.

Also, is there a step-by-step process to change the current Excel file back to a file I can save?

I don't know how to get the commands back in the File menu but I find the Save and Save as commands more convenient on the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar)

    • Click on the little down pointing arrow at the right of any existing icons on the QAT.
    • Select "More Commands"
    • "Popular commands" should be the default in the "Choose command from" DropDown field.
    • Scroll down to the "Save" and "Save as" icons and select each in turn and click the Add button to include them in the list in the right side column.
    • Note that you can select any command in the right side column and use the Up and Down arrows at the far right to move the icons to the required position.
    • Click OK when finished (Don't forget to do this because just closing the dialog with the cross top right will not save the QAT changes).
    • I have circled the pertinent items referred to above on the following screen snippet.
