Excel 2016- Pivot Table - Change Data Source not working

In Excel 2016, I have an issue with Pivot Table when changing data source.

I created a pivot table selecting sales data in a worksheet named "072017".

Then, I copied the worksheet and created a worksheet named "082017". The pivot table in the new worksheet was still selecting the sales data in "072017" as data range, so I went to change the data source with "Change Data Source" function, selected the range in "082017" worksheet and hit "OK" button. Until last month, I can change data source range in this way.

However, the new pivot table was still selecting the data in "072017". I was not able to change the source even though I tried several times.

Is this a bug, or new feature in latest version?

Same experience here.  Clearly a bug. Data source does seem to change if dimensions of table containing data are differ between the new and old spreadsheet.  (At least in the few cases I tried.  There may be other variables.)

More usefully, if you give each area containing data a name, you will be able to change source.

    Hello Joanne,

I experienced the same problem. I asked at stackexchange the same thing...

So I guess this is a bug.

    Best regards

    Steffan

    EDIT:

    Same observation here.

    Hi Taro,

I would like to confirm whether you change data source from Analyze>Change Data Source?

If so, have you tried refreshing data after you change data source to check the result?

If the issue persists, could you provide the following information for troubleshooting?

    1. A screenshot of your current Office product information as the following picture shows, you can check it by opening Excel>File>Account.

    1. A reproduce video to show us how the issue happens via private message.
    2. Does the issue appear after you updated Office?
    3. Does the issue happen to all files or specific one?

    Regards,

    Joanne
