    Hi Thf10861,

Do you mean the Chart Tools doesn’t display after you select the chart you inserted? If so, please click File>Options>Customize Ribbon, under Customize the Ribbon, select Tool tabs, confirm you have checked Design and Format under Chart Tools like the picture below:

If the above is not your situation, please describe more details of your question for us to help you.

    Regards,

    Zixuan

This is what I am looking for.  I do not see these tools when I click on my charts.  I need help figuring out why these tools do not pop up when I click on a graph.

    Hi Thf10861,

    Thanks for your updating.

Do you open the workbook in Excel Online? If so, we would like to share with you that we can't edit chart elements on Excel Online. If not, we would like to collect more information to investigate this behavior you encountered:

    1. Your OS version and Office version. (Open Excel>File>Account>Product Information, capture a complete screenshot.)
    2. Does the behavior occur with specific chart type/workbook? Please create a new workbook and insert a new chart to test.
    3. Please launch Excel in safe mode to see the outcome.
    4. Did Excel work properly previously? If so, did you make any changes like updating or installing some software?

    Regards,

    Zixuan
