Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 x32 bit installation failure

Hello,

I have a x86 bit Microsoft Office installed but the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 x32 bit won't install.

The error message is: "You cannot install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 because you currently have 64-bit Office products installed. If you want to install 32-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016, you will first need to remove the 64-bit installation of Office products. After uninstalling the following product(s), rerun setup in order to install 32-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016: Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component 64-bit registration"

I want to know why won't it install even though i don't have an office app running in x64 bit. Appreciate if anyone can advise.

And also it seems the installer is referring to "64-bit registration" even though i run the 32 bit installer. I don't know if this is intentional or an error.

Thanks,

    Hi Aaron,

The reasons why you couldn't install Access is because your computer already has either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office. To resolve the issue, you'll need to uninstall Office and install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office. Please refer to this support article for more information.

Let us know if you have further concerns.

    Regards.

    Hi Jericho,

I have the same problem and I don't installed the 64bit version.

If I install the 32 Bit version from "Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable", then I don't get the error message. This install correctly.

But I have the Office Pro Plus 2016.

    What can i doing?

    Thanks

    best Regards

    Hi Jericho,

Can you please advise is there any other way I can check if I do have a x64 bit installed? I checked the program files folder for x64 bit and I really don't see anything in there. I just don't see the sense of uninstalling something that I cannot see. I only installed the 32 bit version of Windows. Appreciate it.

    Thanks,
