One Note Sections Keep Changing Order

Hello,

I'm creating a One Note Online (my.sharepoint) document to share with some clients for a big presentation this week. I placed the Sections in a certain order (i.e. 1. Table of Contents, 2. Contact Information, etc) and I want the Sections to stay in this specific order.

However, every time I refresh the page, or close and reopen the One Note Online - the sections get all jumbled and change order. Also, I have all of the sections colored, but when I refresh the page, some of the sections turn grey.

Everything else is saved, no data lost, but the sections are getting out of order. Is there a way that I can "lock" the section order?

Thank you!

Addi Forras

    Hi Addi,

There are several reasons why you are experiencing the issue. One of which is overloaded cache and cookies. We've tried replicating what you're doing with OneNote online and we did not encounter any issues with it.

For us to isolate why it is happening on your end, we would like to know the following:

    • Which browser are you using in accessing your OneNote online?
    • Have you tried using another browser?

In the meantime, we suggest clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Clearing it depends on the browser that you're using, if you are using the Microsoft Edge, kindly follow the steps below:

    1. Open Edge and click Settings (...) .
    2. Under Settings, choose Clear browsing data.
    3. Under it, put a check mark on Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files.
    4. Uncheck other options that you don't want to be deleted.
    5. Wait for the process to finish, then restart Edge and try using your OneNote again.

We'll be waiting for your response.
