ANOTHER exception unknown software error

Got "the exception unknown software exception (0xe0000002) occurred in the application at location 0x000000007670A9F2" right after startup when I tried to open a Word document.

At top of error box it says "HardwareMonitorWindow: WINWORD.EXE - Application Error"

Was subsequently able to start Word over with no problem.

I posted the same problem with Power Point a couple of weeks ago and was told to 

  1. Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features
  2. Find Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications
  3. Click Change at the top of the list, then when the dialog appears, click Repair
  4. This will repair your office installation and should fix any errors you are receiving . .

I did this and it worked fine, but when I tried it again this time, I got a message that the repair failed. 

Help? Should I keep trying this same fix?  Or is there something else I can do?
