Cannot create alerts for lists for which users can only read their own items.

Hi!

I had to set a list to Read access:   *Specify which items users are allowed to read: Read items that were created by the user.*The issue now is that Owners cannot set an alert on the list when a new item is added. Is there an override setting for this?

Hi Kevin,

This is an expected behavior after we set read access and there is no out-of -box feature in SharePoint online to override this. As a workaround, please try using SharePoint Designer to create a workflow when adding new items. For futher support about workflow, I suggest you post a new thread in our MSDN forum for dedicated help.
