In Excel 2016, when I go to File, Options, Quick Access Toolbar and choose All Commands;  put my cursor over various commands and the location of the command appears.  Is there an Excel file with all the commands and their locations.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the clarification.

I understand you want to find an article or spreadsheet that lists all commands and their locations in Excel 2016.

Please note that no official documentation is available to list them.

Given your situation, we suggest you share this idea on our UserVoice, which will help perfect our products and service for your and others.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Joanne

    Hi Alex,

When you are saying " an Excel file with all the commands and their locations", do you mean to make all commands appear at the locations you see when hovering cursor on the commands and let them appear in one Excel file?

If so, I'd like to explain that we can only add all commands to the Quick Access Toolbar in one Excel file, by selecting For current workbook under Customize Quick Access Toolbar, not For all documents (default)

In this way, all commands will be displayed on the Quick Access Toolbar like the picture shows, not under their locations.

To make all commands appear at the locations you see when hovering cursor on the commands, you can go to Customize Ribbon to add commands to their locations. Please note that the change you make will be saved in Excel client, not one Excel document.

If there is any misunderstanding about your requirement, feel free to post back and correct me.

    Regards,

    Joanne

I am looking for a file that has the commands and their locations in the ribbons and menus.  Microsoft produced a spreadsheet for Excel 2003 to Excel 2007 with the commands in 2003 and the new locations. I have not seen a spreadsheet since then. I have seen interactive documents, but I have not seen a listing of the commands and their locations.  I am looking for something lim

    That spreadsheet looked like this:

    Excel 2003 Location **** Excel 2007 Location
New > Office Button New Blank Worksheet
    Open > Office Button Open
Save > Quick Access Toolbar Save
    Save > Office Button Save
Permission > Office Button Prepare Restrict Permission Restrict Permission As
