If one person is the admin for a OneNote Notebook, can they pass the Notebook permissions on if they leave the organization?

Hi Papillon,

Based on your description, you would like to change the ownership for a notebook.

If the notebook is a class notebook, according to this blog, the ownership of OneNote class notebook can be transferred from one teacher to another by using the PowerShell script. To run the script and perform the steps, one should be an Office 365 admin.

To use the script, you should associate your Office 365 subscription with an Azure subscription. You can follow the steps mentioned in this article, if you have the azure subscription.

In case, if you do not have the azure subscription or you do not wish to run the script, then as a workaround, you can create a new notebook in new teachers’ OneDrive and copy section by section in to the new notebook.

If the notebook is a normal notebook, it is not feasible to change the notebook ownership to others. In this case, I'd like to invite you to submit this idea at our User Voice or vote this similar idea which is submitted by another customer. Many features have been designed or upgraded based on customers’ comments. As a workaround, the notebook can be exported and moved to the new OneDrive for Business.

Your understanding is highly appreciated.
