Shared files between Mac & PC Pivot data tables work but graph not changing

Hey all,

Basically our office365 is split between mac users and PC users.

We don't have any compatibility issues apart from one report that uses a pivot table, the raw data sorts as it should but a graph on the same sheet doesn't filter on the Mac's. Any ideas why this one thing doesn't work?

Thanks in advance.

Don't bother. There should be a rule that Microsoft Support folks should have to test their advice before posting it.

Here is the very latest information as of today, Jan 16, 2018:

15.41 - General release version

You can not make PivotCharts in Excel for Mac.

If there was a PivotChart made in Excel for Windows, the chart will display without the filter buttons. The work-around is to use Slicers or PivotChart filter buttons.

16.x Insider Slow and Insider Fast release build versions

The interface for making PivotCharts is not yet done. However, if you make a chart from a PivotTable, the result will be a PivotChart. The filter buttons will not display on the Mac, but if opened in Excel for Windows, the filter buttons will display.

Microsoft is working to get filter buttons working on PivotCharts on the Mac. This is not done, yet.

Microsoft is working to get the interface done for Insert > Recommended PivotChart. This is not done, yet.

When these features are ready for testing, Insider Fast will get them first, followed by Insider Slow, followed by general release.

The graph you're referring to is a Pivot Chart. Pivot Charts never have been supported in Excel for Mac... Those created with a Windows version will display but will not update & cannot be modified using a Mac version.

    Is there a workaround?

Can the Pivot Chart be created in a mac version?
