Export settings for pdf files

Question

From MS Word 2016/365, using "export" or "save as" suddenly results in a pdf with DOCUMENT TITLE (bad) set as the initial view.  This behavior is new...since mid April or so...with no apparent changes to any software or settings.  I really don't care what caused it to change, so long as some tells me how to change it back.

Using "file/print" results in a pdf with FILENAME (good) as initial view.  That is proof that the desired setting is possible.

I need to know how to change the default setting for Export, such that the resulting pdf's will always be FILENAME, never DOCUMENT TITLE.  I process 1000's of pdf files...it is not practical to use the print feature (too many steps), or set the resulting files' properties every time the are created.

Sorry: None of that applies to what I asked.

It is by design that the Document title will appear when you tried to use the Export and Save As options. You need to manually enter the preferred file name for you to view the document with a File name.

Hi,

Your concern might be caused by the default settings that you have set on your device. You can simply change the file type from PDF to .docx by going to your File Explorer > right-click the preferred document you created from the Excel app that was saved as PDF> click Properties > select Change > choose Word 2016 > click OK.
