Three-state Workflow Emailing Creator?

Anonymous

I have created a three-state workflow that emails the user, whom the item was assigned to, when the workflow is initiated.  When someone changes the three-option choice field used to create the workflow, no email is sent to the creator of the task for them to finalize the item and take it from state two to three.

What must I enter under the "To:" field to have SharePoint email the creator of the task?

    Hi BezelBro,

Based on our test, you can add the task creator's email and the email address of the person who is assigned to the task to three-state workflow by the following steps.

    1. In Task Details, under Task Assigned To you can choose Include list field then select the column from the list that contains the user information that you want to use or you can choose Custom then type or select the name of the person to whom you want to assign the task.
    2. Under E-mail Message Details, type the email address you want to in To, and select Include Task Assigned To at the same time.

Both of the task creator's email and the email address you inserted in To will receive the message.

    Regards,

    Tisky

I'd like an email to be sent to the person who is assigned to the task when the item is applied to the workflow.  I'd also like another email to be sent to the task creator when the item moves from state 1 to 2.  The problem I'm having is an email is only being sent to the task creator when the item is applied to the workflow, regardless of whom is assigned to the issue.

I've tried different combinations but right now I have checked off "Send e-mail message" and "Include Task Assigned To" and the problem still exists.

    Hi BezelBro,

Based on your description, you want the task creator receive the email when someone changes the three options choice field.

Here is an article for your reference: Use a Three-state workflow. Under E-mail Message Details, you will find the description of the field.

You can type the name of the person to whom you want an email alert about the workflow task to be sent. If you want to send the email alert to the task owner, you canselect the Include Task Assigned To checkbox.

    Regards,

    Tisky
