Is there a way when access is revoked to files via OneDrive or Sharepoint cloud-side, that the next time a client syncing the files comes online, those local files will be removed from the machine?

Hi Customer,

I did a test with new sync client of OneDrive for Business. Gave user access to a folder. Use user account to sync files in it. And then I remove his permissions of some files. Those files which he doesn't have permissions anymore will automatically be removed in the synced folder.

So, if that user uses the new sync client of OneDrive for Business, when you remove his access for some items. Those items should be removed from his synced folder.

Note: He can see these changes via clicking the sync client icon.

Meanwhile, another method is that you can backup those files. And then remove them from cloud. The changes will be synced to his sync client. It means all files will be remove from his synced folder. And then, you can remove his access. At last, move those files back to that library.

Best regards,

Tim
