Ipad: Cannot print from Excel App without an internet connection

Question

Hi,

Since the update of the Excel application (v.2.1 - 170512) on my ipad (IOS 10.3.1), I am no longer able to print from Excel while being offline. It used to work before the update of the Excel application.

Note that I am able to print from Word while being offline, but not from Excel.

The problem seems to be inside the Excel application.

I tried "reseting" Excel, reinstalling it, but no luck: an internet connection is always required to print.

As soon as we select "print" from Excel, we see the portrait/landscape dialog, but as soon as we press "Continue", a new dialog appears saying that an internet connection is required to convert the document (even before selecting the printer).

It looks like Excel is using an online conversion service now to convert the spreadsheet before sending it to the printer ?

How are we suppose to print from Excel now without wifi ?

Hi,

There is no need to provide you with all the info, since  the printing problem is a known problem in Excel for ipad.

So, there is nothing I can do on my side.

Let`s hope the Excel team will fix it!

I agree with this. My company dont have internet access on android tablets so offline printing is a must. Wilk have to look for an alternative app with all mod cons.

To better understand the situation, I'd like to confirm the following things:

1. When offline, can Word for iPad print successfully or you only can get the print operation setting page?
2. Do you encounter the message after clicking Print>AirPrint>Next in Excel for iPad?
3. Capture a screenshot for the error message mentioned in your post.
