Filter and sort tables in OneNote

I use OneNote to keep notes and to-do lists. I organize the to-do lists in tables. Some of my to-do lists are already quite long.

Hence, I was wondering if there is a way to sort, but especially filter, tables in OneNote? I know that there is a way to sort tables under the "Table Tools" tab, but it takes quite some clicks to get there. Filtering does not seem to be possible at all. I am looking for a functionality similar to the one found in Excel, where you can simply sort and filter using a drop-down within the table.

Is there something similar in OneNote? Or are there better ways in general to achieve my goals?

The table tool which you see is same used across MS Office Products say Word. This table structure provides only Sorting facility not Filtering. This behavior being common across all Office products. Filtering is a facility which is exclusive to Excel tables only.

Now this table can be sorted through right click > Table apart from Table Tools (Layout)

If you need Excel like functionality, I would recommend that you convert your table to Excel table. Convert to Excel Spreadsheet appears in both Table Tools (Layout)as well as in Right Click also.

There is already a feature request for this @ Uservoice. Would recommend that you should also go there and vote and put comments. Uservoice is the platform where Microsoft takes ideas from users of its products.
