    Hi Maria,

Based on your description, after you insert a chart, the Chart Design tab doesn't appear. We'd like to confirm some information to clarify your situation.

    1. If you click the data in the table then select the chart again, will the tab appear? If possible, please share the screenshot of the symptom after you select the chart.
    2. Does this problem happen to all the workbooks you have? You can try creating a new workbook with the same chart then check whether the problem still persists.

    Regards,

    Tisky

Yes it happens with all my workbooks since the last update.

Here are the screen shoots. If I select the Chart it does not appear if i select the data that it comes from it just shows the design option for the pivot table.

It appears that these are Pivot Charts... Were they created using a Windows version of Excel?

Excel for Mac does not support Pivot Charts: They can be viewed & will update according to changes in the Pivot Table on which they are based, but they cannot be created or modified in a Mac version of the program.

EDIT: It should be noted that support for Pivot Charts has been added to Mac Excel effective with v16.9. My understanding is that the feature still is under development & will be improved by future updates. I haven't had an opportunity to see how it will handle Pivot Charts previously created in a Windows version of Excel.

    Hello,

They were not made in a windows version of excel... they were made on a Mac. And I worked like this all year along until the last update...
