Insert SharePoint Online Major Version Published Date into Document

I'd like to be able to automatically include in a document the date a major version of the document was published. I can do this with the version number using the SharePoint Information Policy Management, but I can't work out how to do this for the date the major version was published. The best I can do is have a manually updated Published Date document property, but this does not suit.

What I'm trying to achieve is an approvals workflow where collaborators can create as many minor/draft versions of a document as necessary. When a major version is published, an approval workflow kicks in, and I want the version number and date to be updated once the major version has been approved - I don't want this to be an extra manual step nor for the date to change with every minor version change.

Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Hi Intrepid,

It is not feasible to update version number and date into your document within out of box feature when a major version of the document was published.

If you need more assistance regarding customize workflow, please post a new thread in our Developer Forum for export assistance.

Thanks,

Neo
