Hello Guys,

I'm doing right now a Staged Migration from Exchange 2007 to Office 365 Hybrid. I'm almost done with that and I 've allready synced my Shared Mailboxes to Office 365:

  1. Switched the Shared Mailboxes on premise to User Mailbox.
  2. Synced the User Mailbox
  3. Switched back the User Mailbox to Shared Mailbox in Office 365

Now I want to delete one of the Shared Mailboxes but I don't now how to do that - please let me know. Since the Mailbox was origin created on Exchange on premise, I've to delte it on premise. But how? The Shared Mailbox is "disconnected" in Exchange 2007.

Please let me know how th delete the Shared Mailbox "best practise like".

Thank you!

Hi McZalle,

Since the account is synced through AAD Connect and now the mailbox has been disconnected in Exchange server, please delete the account in your local AD and then run the command to resync:

Start-ADSyncSyncCycle -PolicyType Delta

Please let us know if you have other questions.

Regards,

Robert

Thanks, that works for me. But how is the shared mailbox linked to a specific user account? And how should we "best practises" create new shared mailboxes in the future? Thank you again.
