Nesting Bookmarks

I am working on a project that is using a template which is not using "Heading Styles".

So I am using Word 10 and Acrobat 10

Instead of using "Heading Style 1" for Section 1.0

He has this crazy template where he uses "^Section Title" for Section 1.0 and "^Section Title 1" for Section 1.1

-

When I create the PDF it does not properly nest the parent/child in the bookmark pane.

It just lists the following

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Scope

1.2 Purpose

2.0 H&S Program

2.1 Program Commitment

etc.

-

I tried the navigation pane and could not substitute the system he uses.

-

I can manually nest the bookmarks which also adds the lines.

-

Is there a way to do this automatically without involving any programing?

-

Thanks for your help.
