Thanks for the information, Benedict. For this concern, kindly make sure that Tablet mode is turned on*.* Also, toggle the automatic inking: Go to File > Options and select Advanced. In the Pen section, select the box next to Use pen to select and interact with content by default.

You can open the app in safe mode to see if you will still experience the same concern when it comes to Word's performance while using a stylus.

Only recently when I've started using my stylus more extensively to record notes.  No issues on other office apps, used the troubleshooter which disabled add-ins but helped nothing. My device is lenovo yoga 11e
