Hi,

after an update, suddenly I was supposed to log in with my outlook email address which was not my preferred user before. doing so, I needed to update my security information which takes ridiculous 30 days to check.
In addition, after the update, I suddenly needed a admin PIN for any updates in software, apps etc. which was on my laptop and this PIN was relating to my outlook account, which I am not allowed to access for the next 30 days!
I am really wondering if you are kidding me. I never set any admin PIN and never needed any as IÄm the only person using my laptop.

Please let me know a quick way to change back to making updates without admin PIN without having to wait for my outlook account to be checked in 30 days! Otherwise I cannot really use my laptop. thank you!

Try to boot in Safe mode or if possible create another user account with same privileges.
    Open:
    C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC.
In NGC folder delete all the files. To do so you must be logged as Administrator.
After removing all files from NGC directory, you need to recreate your PIN by following these steps:

Open Settings app by pressing Windows Key + I.
When Settings app opens, navigate to Accounts section.

From the menu on the left select Sign-in options
Click the Add button in the PIN section.
Enter the desired PIN twice. Once you’re done, click OK to save changes.

If deleting NGC folder didn’t solve the problem, you can use ‘I forgot my PIN‘ option. Here’s how to do that:

    Go to Settings > Accounts.
Next, go to Sign-in options and choose I forgot my PIN.

Follow the instructions and enter your Microsoft account password and you’ll be able to set a new PIN code or use the old one instead.

    Hello,

    Information required to assist you.

Your security information for Outlook account should be updated instantaneously. Can you pls elaborate 'update my security information which takes ridiculous 30 days to check'?

You said 'I suddenly needed a admin PIN for any updates in software, apps etc.' but there is no such mandatory requirement.

    Regards.
