Word Document (Statistics / Printed Count)

I recently had to prove how many times a document was printed.

On the computer where this was created, all aspects were present in the statistics of the document. But on transferring the document to a usb stick and then to another computer the printed count was blank and not '2' as previously displayed.

The computer where the file was created was a Windows PC running (possibly) Office 2010. The file was then transferred to a Mac running Office 2016.

Is there any reason why this would happen? Different versions of word? The transferring of the file?

Thanks in advance :)

While there is a statistic for the date a document was last printed, I have never seen a statistic for the number of times a document had been printed.   It is inconceivable that it would record the number of copies that were printed at the one time, which can actually be set in the printer driver rather than in the Backstage Print view.

Also, if it was printed to a pdf printer, how would you know how many times the pdf had been printed?

Aside from all of that, when you transfer a file in the manner described, that is to be expected as they become a new file on the destination computer.
