Killing @outlook.com

Anonymous

I was working with support troubleshooting the login problem and they created an @outlook.com account and had me delete my private account hosted by Office 365.

I'm unable to delete the Outlook.com account because it tells me to make another account primary. There is no way to add back my private email account.

Any thoughts or comments would be gratefully appreciated!

Hi sir,

We cannot set the Office 365 Business account address as the alias of @outlook.com account. It should be related to the known issue which the support mentioned.

In this situation, I suggest you contact the @outlook support to move on the issue as it is related to Microsoft account, not Office 365 Business.

    Hi sir,

It is a @outlook.com issue, not the Office 365 Bussiness account.

In this situation, you may add an alias for the account from the Manage how you sign in to Microsoftpage, and set is as default> remove the address which the support set for you.

    Regards,

    Hans

That's the whole problem. When I try to remoce the @outlook account I get

    Choose another primary alias

    ******@outlook.com

Before you can remove this alias, choose another one to be your primary alias.

I want to KILL both of my @outlook.com accounts and revert back to ******@domain.net which no longer appears on the page. I have to log in using ******@outlook.com

    Hi sir,

Before moving further, I need to check some details with you:

    1. What's the login issue for the account, where cannot the account login?
    2. Which Office 365 plan did you purchase for the account, Office 365 Business/Home?
    3. Please refer to this article to check whether you could add the account back and set is as default:

Add your other email accounts to Outlook.com

    Regards,

    Hans

Thank you for the response. It's office 365 business. I am on a page titled "Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. The url is https://account.live.com/names/Manage?mkt=en-US&refd=account.microsoft.com&refp=profile.

I was working with technical support having to do with the login problem on my laptop which turned out to be a Microsoft bug that a hot fix is being developed for. The tech support person had me create an @outlook.com account which was automatically made primary. When I first went to that page my primary office 365 business plan E3 address was listed. Tech support told me to remove that account and there is no way to add it back. I also want to permanently delete the @outlook.com addresses without affecting my primary email address.

    How do I do this?

Thanks in advance for your help
