    When MS released Office 2013, they "improved" the license terms to allow install on only one machine. Why, bottom line, was, ... the bottom line. Putting it bluntly, it was a cash grab. They doubled the price of the bundle, without changing the price, and without most reporters noticing. Ultimately, the idea was to "encourage" users to switch to the then new Office 365 subscription (which ultimately brings in more money than one-time licenses).

    Office 2013 license is for one computer only. This is Microsoft condition. If you need to have on more than 1 computer consider following -

    Office 365 Home license is for 15 devices - 5 computers + 5 tablets + 5 phones and Office 365 personal is for 3 devices - 1 computer + 1 tablets + 1 phone
