When I try to create a new notebook I get the error "A notebook with that name already exists. Please choose a new name" - None of the notebook names I am using have been used in the past.

    Hi Steph,

Notebooks are folders within the Windows file system. If you think you create a new notebook within a notebook's existing folder, then you are creating a section group from the perspective of the existing notebook. If you didn't create that notebook names before, this could be a sync conflict between your local OneNote and OneDrive. We suggest that you change your local folder name and avoid any existing files in that cloud-folder which may be overwritten by local files in the notebook you open.

Let us know how it goes after performing the aforementioned solutions. We'd be glad to further assist you.
