Version 1710 Update

We recently updated our Office 365 versions from 1706 to 1710 (8625.2121). When users attempt to open Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents stored in OneDrive from Recent Documents an error message is displayed stating "Please make sure you're using the correct web address." I can go out to the OneDrive portal or access the OneDrive folder syncing to my PC and open the files its just the links within the applications that are broken.

Does anyone else get this same issue?

    1. Try repairing your Office installation. First try Quick Repair (takes 5 - 10 mins) , if that doesn't help then try Online Repair (Takes more than 30 mins but less than 1 hour in general)

    1. Login to Windows with a new user profile and see whether it helps.

We tried all three options and the same error occurs. Something else that we noticed also is when a user opens Word, Excel, PowerPoint and tried to open an existing document from their OneDrive they are also getting the error but if they create a new document and save it to OneDrive and then close and reopen the application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) the new file is able to be opened from the OneDrive folder within the application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Option 1:

Sign out of all Office Apps and Onedrive, Sign in again.

    Option 2: Delete Cache.

Click Win key + S, type Microsoft Upload Center, and click on the search results.

Go to Settings and click on Delete Cached Files.

Once done, reboot your PC and try to open OneDrive files that thrown a pop-up asking for credentials.

    Option 3: Empty Credential Manager.

Right-click on Win key and select Control Panel.

Navigate to Accounts and Family Safety -> Click on User Accounts.

Find Manage your credentials on the left pane and remove the live account ID and password for OneDrive.

After that, restart your PC and try to open Word or Excel file that you need.

If the file successfully opened, go to File, select Account, and add your OneDrive account.
