Margins

I opened up my Microsoft office and the margin on the left was gone and I cannot change the horizontal ones per paragraph and I cannot get it back. I attached a picture to show you. You see how on the top there the 2 arrows for adjusting but on the left it is completely gone. I have tried everything to fix this because otherwise my typing shows up at the very top edge. It's something so small but it really affects the typing and concentration. 

Any help would be great.

It sounds like you're actually referring to the Ruler on the left which indicates the vertical measurement - including top margin. The problem isn't with the Margin, it's that you've toggled off the display of White Space. That causes the respective parts of the Ruler to not be displayed.

    Ok, but the arrows used to also show up on the side and they do not anymore. How do I get those back? I want to be able to adjust it when need be and them not being there is making it very difficult.

    The two arrows are in the correct place at the left margin, indicating that the paragraph is not formatted with any indents.
