Cannot update Office 365

I have an Office 365 subscription and have never had this problem until now as previously all updates were automatic. All my apps - Word, Excel etc etc have a yellow band saying UPDATES AVAILABLE Updates for Office are ready to be installed, but first we need to close some apps - then an Update Now button. When I click the orange bordered pop-up says it's downloading updates but nothing happens.

When I go to support it doesn't come up with my account - it comes up with another Office365 account as I have Outlook from work with another email address - support just tells me to contact my administrator

Pretty frustrated right now

  1. You can try following -

Network & Internet -> WI-FI -> Manage known networks -> <Select your WI-FI> -> Properties -> Set as Metered Connection <On/Off> ->OFF

Update your office now.

  1. Do you have another older version of office installed on your computer. If yes, please remove that completely by Easy Fix tool.

  1. Start the computer in clean boot and then try to update the Office applications, check the result.

Refer to the link below to know how to start the computer in clean boot:

Note: Ensure to restart the computer in normal mode once troubleshooting is completed.

    Ok, can you please do the following?

    1. Open Word
    2. Go on File -> Account
    3. Check your product subscription and let me know (or share a screenshot of that).

    Thanks

    Ugo

    I've already tried that. That's where it tells me to contact my administrator and thinks I'm on my work account which is just for outlook.

    it doesnt link to my personal account
