There was an update on 5/21/2017 and after that update, I've been UNABLE to access my Microsoft Office 2013 applications.  I've been using this software for 3 years with no problems until now.  Was the recent update corrupt?  When trying to open Microsoft Office Word, I'm getting a message that I need to activate my product by entering my email address and password associated with my account.  After entering the data, I still can't access my Microsoft applications.

Error message: "Sorry, we ran into a problem while trying to install the product.  If this keeps happening, you should try repairing your office product."

I clicked on the 'Repair Now' option but that does NOT solve the problem.  This software is very expensive and I need to use it.  Please help.   I've tried 'Running as the Administrator' and that didn't help.  I have a Windows 7 desktop computer.

Hi Georgia,

This issue can occur if the Desktop Experience component has previously been installed and uninstalled. To provide appropriate troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern, we’d like to ask which Updates are installed on the device. Is it Office Update or Windows Update?

In the meantime, if you still have the Product Key of your Office with you, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall your Microsoft Office 2013 applications. To do this, follow the step by step instructions provided in this article.

We will wait for your response.
