Hello,

I have installed SQL Server 2016 successfully and I am able to create user and schemas but I have a problem with the COM+ that it cannot talk to the MDTC. My laptop is DELL Latitude 5511 and has the latest windows updates.

Kindly check the screenshots and let me know if you need more information.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Because you added the tag related to SQL Server. SQL Server usually requires MSDTC for distributed transactions or linked servers. Did you receive an error when using these options on SQL Server and the error message points to MSDTC? If it is, please show the specific error message.
Try the steps in this document to configure MSDTC
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/biztalk/adapters-and-accelerators/adapter-sql/configure-msdtc-on-sql-server-and-adapter-client

In addition, for the error "COM+ unable to talk to the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator", please refer to the following similar post. This error has nothing to do with SQL Server.

The error message is a "nice" example of "Denglish" half Deutsch/half English :-)

The error message mention the user "EMEA\elmahdm", who/what is that one?
