Toggle function with pivot table/chart

I had one of my data analyzers create a pivot table, and from that, a bar chart. She also created a toggle function, so that the bar chart will change when a different data "button" is selected. This function works great on a Windows, but does not work on my Mac.

Also, is there an easy way to update the information in the charts as I add data in the main workbook (over months time)?

If the pivot chart was created in Excel for Windows with slicers and  these don't show in Excel for Mac, then there's not much we can do.  I found this answer from MVP Jim Gordon in another question on this forum:

"Slicers on charts are not supported in Excel for Mac. It has nothing to do with updates."

Sorry.

The situation is not desperate. I expect these will soon be available in Excel for Mac. Meanwhile, all other slicers are now supported, so if you don't mind going to the extra step of making slicers, they will work just fine.

    Thanks Teylyn,

The bar chart data will update based on what data button is selected - I believe I'm referring to pivot table slicers, and if so, may not be possible to use on my mac.

I'm not sure how to tell which version for sure, but the info says version 15.32.

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Erin

    Hello,

what aspect of the chart is changed? What exactly does the "toggle function" do? Are you referring to Pivot table slicers? These don't work in older versions of Excel for Mac.

Or are you talking about VBA code? Not all Windows VBA code works on Mac.

To answer your question, we need more detail. Also, please include the Excel version, since functionality differs greatly between releases.
