Microsoft Project doesn't open

I have installed Microsoft Project but it doesn't open, it send this message:

"Project couldn't start last time, Safe mode could help to troubleshoot the problem. Do you want to start safe mode?"

If I click "yes" or "no" it doesn't work and the program is closed.

Can somebody help me? Please!

I called the technical support but they said they will call me back.

Hi Victoria,

Please inform us once you get the call.

In the meantime, to narrow down the issue, here are some suggestions:

  1. I understand that Project will not be launched after you choose Yes in the pop-up window. Please check if you can directly open Project in safe mode. Hold Ctrl then double click the Project icon.
  2. Regarding the error message, here is a possible solution for your reference. (For Office 2016, it is 16.0.)

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Edit at your own risk.

    Hopefully tech support will indeed call you back.

    In the event tech support does not call back, a little more information may help us help you resolve the issue. What version of Project are you using? Where did you get your version of Project? Are you sure it is a legal copy? Do you have any trouble opening any other applications (e.g. MS Office)? What version of Windows are you using?

    I don't know the name of the person who attended me, I just got a number to follow my case, maybe that could help.

    I sounds like Microsoft support never called back.

    Thanks for the background information. Unfortunately I can't help you with Project Online or Windows 10 but there are Microsoft people who monitor this forum and hopefully one of them will jump in with some help. If not, I'll rattle their cages.

    Hello John,

    I have the Project 2016, the licenses that I have say "Project Online (plan 2) and Project Online Desktop Client"

    I got it from Microsoft, it is legal

    I don't have problems with other app

    I'm using Windows 10

    I have already uninstalled - reinstalled the Project, also the office and still not working
