I am trying to save an Excel 2015 spreadsheet using SAVE and SAVE AS, and keep getting the same error, Alert  Document not saved.

I reduced the number of characters in the title, as it exceeded the limit.

Job Search Record 1 (Autosaved) (Autosaved) (Autosaved)

I removed all the (Autosaved) from the title.

Joanne,

Thank you for your help. By changing the file name, I was able to save the file on my MAC.

Best regards,

    Hi RMWondering,

Please try the followings and let us know the result:

    1. Try to save the document in a different format. For example, if you tried to save the document in .xlsx format, try saving as .xls format to see the outcome.
    2. Try to save the document to a different location.
    3. Try copying the contents in the document to a new document to see if you can save it.
    4. Try safe booting your Mac and only launch Excel to see if you can save the document.

If the error persists, we'd like to confirm some information for troubleshooting:

    1. Where are you trying to save the document? Your local drive or an Online location such as personal OneDrive or OneDrive for Business?
    2. If you create a new blank document, can you save it to the same location?
    3. Your Excel version (you can check it from Excel menu>About Excel) and your Mac OS version (you can check it from Apple menu>About this Mac).
    4. Can you save the document previously? If yes, did you make any changes to the document, your Excel, or your Mac before the suddenly change?

    Regards,

    Joanne
