i am a trustee of a small charity. For our data protection policy we want to be able to keep certain fies for a predetermined number of years, say for 6 years and then delete the file. Is it possible to set this up within Word and Excel?

This is not possible from within Word and Excel. It is not possible even on Windows version through Word and Excel.
