Repeating table, appendix titles over multiple pages

I have to insert many long tables that often run over multiple pages, how do you get the "insert caption" function to repeat itself on multiple pages? the only workaround I have found is to add another table row, make the  borders invisible, and then cut and past the title into the table itself.  but this seems to unlink it from the listing of tables or listing of appendices when you update it.

    Try inserting a StyleRef field in the Heading that refers to the Caption style.
